SHORT TERM MISSION TRIPS

Be part of what GOD is doing through John 17:18 Ministries.

We are members of The Fellowship of Baptist World Ministries who are partnering with The International Mission Board, SBC to take groups where ever the Southern Baptist Convention has Missionaries.

Our Mission Trips are for the purpose of helping Missionaries and Pastors in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training. We take American Pastors and Lay People on 10 to 14 day trips to experience life on the mission field.

Volunteers will:-

* gain insight and a zeal for hands-on mission experience.

* have an exposure to a GOD-Size view of the Kingdom.:

Churches will develop a partnership with an indigenous church that can continue beyond the mission trip encouraging the missionary and renewing the heart of church for missions.

"WHO CAN WE USE ? "

Pastors, Musicians, Youth Pastors, Clowns, Mimes, Story Tellers, Sunday School Teachers, Elders, Lay Leaders, Deacons,

many times we can use people to share their testimony.

Basically, every Christian's spiritual gifts can be used, that's why HE gave them to us.

We are now setting dates for 2007 & 2008. If you have a group of seven or more, we can design a special trip just for you.

As a CHRIST-centered, faith-based ministry, we trust the LORD and HIS people to help sustain the vital work of this ministry.

IT is indeed an honor to see GOD continue to impact hearts and lives through this ministry. Please pray about your part in helping to financially sustain the operational expenses vital to continuing this mission work for CHRIST.

John 17:18 Ministries has a 501(c3) status. We rely on individual donation and foundation support. IF you can't go, please help financially.

See first-hand the Exciting Revival and Spiritual Awakening now taking place in the countries that we go to.

Sharing "JESUS" on the Streets. Witness the power of small group ministry in the life of the church.

Small groups are a Worldwide movement of GOD, it is not just an American Phenomenon. The vision of the Pastors that we work with is to win hundreds and thousands to CHRIST.

THIS IS THE REASON I GO !!

WHY SHOULD YOU GO ?

We need to lose our starry eyed missionary view. There is a need. There is sinners in every country that we go to.

WHY NOW ?

These trips that John 17:18 Ministries offers are the key for American Christians to build relationships with Missionaries and Pastors throughout the world. You don't always go for the experience, sometimes you go for the passion. You will see the Power of GOD, when you go.
It is our hope and prayer, that this will be the beginning of a partnership.

TESTIMONIES OF ONES WHO WENT TO CUBA WITH US

KEVIN IS THE FIRST AMERICAN TO BE BAPTIZED IN CUBA

My trip to Cuba was the greatest experience of my life. The LORD taught me that it is outside of our comfort zone where HE can teach us, challenge us, grow us, and use us to advance HIS Kingdom, because that is where HE will find us dependent on HIM and not on ourselves. Though the Cuban people are way behind us materially, they are light years ahead of us spiritually. What they have to give you are things that will last forever, things of the heart. You will form eternal bonds and relationships in Cuba. One of the greatest memories of my life was getting baptized in a Cuban church by a Cuban Pastor. I waited to get baptized there to publicly display in Cuba and back home that GOD sets us free, regardless of whether we are living in a democracy or in captivity.

Kevin Douglas, Real Estate Appraiser, Maumee, Ohio

The gospel of our LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST is alive and well in Cuba ! The Cuban believers are full of faith and have a deep hunger for the WORD of GOD. People are open and welcome the GOOD NEWS of salvation. My faith was strengthened and challenged by the Cuban's contentment and joy in spite of their extremely limited resources. They truly live out the examples in "Hebrews 11" that states "They are strangers and exiles on the earth", "They are seeking a country of their own."...They desire a better country, that is a heavenly one.", "And all these, having gained approval through their faith...",Although we are miles apart and speak a different language, we have one GOD, one faith, one baptism and one compelling purpose in this life. The Gospel is the same in every part of the world and has an enormous effect on the listeners.

Pastor Steve Hutmacher, CedarCreek Church, Perrysburg, Ohio

I was taken back by the volumes of love and kindness that the Cuban people poured out on me. The LORD called on me to serve them, people that have very little, but it was I that came back humbled by the strength of their love for JESUS despite their adversities. I am reminded of what 1 Corinthians 13 says about love. "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Dave W. Clarke, Production Scheduler, Toledo, Ohio

While I went to serve our Cuban brothers and sisters, I returned simply overwhelmed by their deep hunger for the Word and their abiding trust in GOD to -- literally -- supply their daily bread. We have much to learn from them.
To put Cuba in perspective, one of my translators--Adel -- is an emergency room physician and he earns $12 US a month ( yes, twelve dollars a month ! ) while a pair of tennis shoes costs $11.50 US ! Sadly, Adel is well paid by Cuban standards. Yet, Adel took a week of vacation to spend it translating for our team of American Christians, so that we could share the gospel in the neighborhood surrounding the church where we stayed. GOD showed HIS power that week and many people accepted JESUS as their LORD !

My experience in Cuba ministering to the people there was one of the most rewarding and life changing events in my life. The Christians that we were involved with were very dedicated and committed to the cause of CHRIST. The lost that we ministered to were very appreciative and very receptive to the message of JESUS CHRIST. Many were saved as a result of our visit and many are still being reached as a result of our visit. They are very poor , like many countries, but they are also very oppressed by the government. They have nothing, and the chance to bring the hope of JESUS CHRIST to these people should never be missed. I can hardly wait until my next trip.

Chris Giles, Mt. Gallant Church of GOD, Rock Hill, S.C.

Going to Cuba was the most humbling experience I have ever had. They are a country of many races, but are "One People"! They truly "love" one another with a type of love that is beyond our understanding. It is a pure love with no conditions attached. And the ones who are Christians could run circles around us! Their Love of GOD, their Faith and Trust in the LORD was so powerful and beautiful. Everywhere we went we could see and feel GOD'S Love. I felt so unworthy to be there, even though I have been a Christian for over 26 years ...I still wasn't prepared. But praise the LORD that in my weakness He is strong and shines through. My prayer is that the LORD will keep me humble and broken for the people in Cuba, around the world, and in America. And, I pray that one day all that I have seen and experienced in Cuba will be put into action in me and I will allow GOD to do a Great Work. Break me LORD and mold me, for YOU are the Potter and I am the clay!

Going to Cuba was truly a blessing in many ways. Being of Cuban descend I had heard many stories both good and bad. I was really afraid to go. All my life I was told never to step foot in Cuba because my father had escaped in 1960 and later returned to rescue my mother and oldest brother along with other family members. He was to be executed on the firing wall prior to his escape. The belief was that I could be held accountable for his actions. GOD challenged me to step out on faith and trust HIM, when HE called me to go and serve as an interpreter for my pastor who also went on this trip. Well I knew I didn't have the ability to interpret as a professional nor did I speak perfect Spanish, but the LORD once again showed me I can do anything with JESUS by my side. When the airplane door opened and I heard the agents speaking, my heart leaped. I felt like a child going home for the first time to meet her family. And that's exactly how I was welcomed, as family. They were loving and willing to give what food they had even if it were their last. They truly loved JESUS and were dependent upon HIM for their every need. They live in a poor oppressed nation and are held in bondage physically. I never heard them say, "why me LORD ? " Instead all I heard was praises. Spiritually they had truly been set free. The children and the youth also were so knowledgeable of the scriptures and willing to serve in the church. I returned home with a deep gratitude for my country, the USA, and the freedoms I have here, but realized how easy it is to live in spiritual bondage. While I was there I didn't worry about what other people might say or think. I didn't worry about how I looked or what I was wearing. I had an opportunity to just be me and let GOD do the rest.
